FAQ's
Q: What is the timeline of the event?
A: As this is the first year that we have hosted this event, we are unsure what level of participation to expect. However, we anticipate that it will be about the same length as a small competition. We won't place a dance on the floor earlier than 8:30am, and we expect to be finished no later than 5:00pm.
Q: Will it run like a competition?
A: Yes and no. There will be changing facilities should you wish to change, but costumes are not necessary. Warm up and practice areas will be available, but our staging crew will be limited. Dancers are encouraged to be "the audience" and provide positive support for the other participants. There will be longer breaks between performances so that the training judges can review the sheets of the apprentice judges.
Q: How do coaches address the critique panel?
A: We are intending to keep this event informal. Coaches will be allowed to speak to the critique panel in person prior to each performance. If you'd like to preface a performance, be prepared to have a few brief points to communicate.
Q: Will there be audio comments?
A: As we will not have a tab room, we will not be collecting and distributing audio comments. However, coaches are welcome to bring their own digital records and request any member of the critique panel to make their audio comments directly on your own recorder.
